Players will encounter alligators of different colors in Glade of Trust, including blue, golden, pink, and red. While most of them can be easily found, the white and pink ones are rarer. Feeding them can be challenging since they tend to flee when players approach them. By continuously running after them, players can tire them out, making it easier for them to approach these critters.

Lobsters are the favorite food of alligators in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players who want crocodiles as their companions can catch the lobster in yellow or golden fishing spots in the water bodies in Glade of Trust and feed these skittish animals. Apart from lobsters, crocodiles also enjoy eating tuna, squid, and herring.

Patience is the most important thing when approaching crocodiles or any other critter in the game. This is because these seemingly dangerous animals are actually quite shy and can be quickly scared away if players approach them abruptly. The best way to approach a crocodile is to walk up slowly and calmly towards it while its head is down.

Once the alligator raises its head, players should immediately stop moving, or else the animal will likely run away. Therefore, it is recommended to proceed cautiously and sneak toward it until it is within proximity. Once players are close enough, they will see a prompt to feed it. After feeding crocodiles a few times, players can recruit them as companions.
