Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has entered its final stage, which means players can now start preparing for what is to come once the next season drops. As the release of Chapter 4 Season 4 gets closer, more hints will drop so that players can get an idea of the upcoming Fortnite theme.
The Apparatus now has a large telescope-like structure on top of it, emitting a pink beam into the sky, and many gamers have started to wonder what it could mean. This article will give Fortnite fans some insight into this phenomenon in order to clear up some questions they might have.
The Importance of the Kinetic Prisms
Ever since Chapter 4 Season 3 started, it was obvious that The Apparatus landmark would hold some sort of importance, but it was never quite clear why.
There were several hidden quests this season that required players to find Prisms on the island and give them to Trace, an NPC at The Apparatus. As they did this, they would progressively learn more about these Prisms. Here’s the information that could be gathered from Trace’s analysis:
The Prisms are made from Kinetic Ore The Prisms were created to refract light; they work as a lens The Prisms can be installed in The ApparatusInitially, Trace and Doctor Slone believed that The Apparatus was some sort of telescope, but they eventually figured out that it’s actually a stellar projector and that it contains glyphs with information from an ancient civilization.
This storyline unravels as gamers continue to progress through the Snapshots Quests and complete Slone’s Quests.

The pink beam shooting up into the sky is a direct result of Doctor Slone charging up The Apparatus with Refined Kinetic Ore. The objective is to use it as a stellar projector to study the ancient information it holds. The message it transmits captures the signal of an incoming eclipse.
Although a major live event will most likely only take place once there’s a chapter renewal, players can expect this eclipse to be connected to Chapter 4 Season 4’s theme.
Doctor Slone mentions leaving the island, just like the ancient civilization that inhabited the jungle long ago. She says that the glyphs could be a hint of their next location and how they might be able to “find a home among the stars.” However, this piece of information is likely connected to Chapter 5, which will certainly bring an entirely new Fortnite map.
Fortnite is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
