Madden NFL 24: How To Intercept A Pass
Many NFL experts identify turnovers as the leading way to win games. Getting an interception in Madden NFL 24 isn’t just exciting, it’s a critical gauge of success. If players can pick off even one pass in a game, the odds of winning that game shoot upward, especially with how the home and visitor advantages work this year.
So players looking for a big interception will want to be ready when the rare opportunity arises. Even on the easiest settings, the AI is pretty good about not throwing into coverage. Against actual opponents, they’re even smarter about it. Maximize every chance to take the ball in Madden NFL 24 and come away with a huge pick.
How To Intercept A Pass
Switch to the closest player to the play (B on Xbox Series X/S controller, Circle on PlayStation 5 controller, Middle Mouse Button or F on keyboard). Get in between the intended receiver and the pass. Press the Ball Hawk button when the ball arrives at the location (Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, R on keyboard).
The best safeties in the game are always looking for a clean interception. They’ll usually be in the vicinity of a deep ball and ready to go. On shorter passing, this duty often falls to middle linebackers. It’s important to have these players have great hands, otherwise they’ll more often just knock the ball away or, worse, tip the ball up for the receiver to grab.
This process must also contend with elite wide receivers. Sometimes, even on a contested ball, wide receivers can come away with a tough catch, especially if they can jump higher, run faster, and have better hands than the defensive back assigned to cover them.
After making a pick, the screen will turn around and the controls turn to the ball carrier controls. These aren’t the best running backs so be careful with the ball and don’t try any moves that might risk turning the ball back over. A touchdown is always the goal but ball protection comes first.
