Mark Zuckerberg finishes Murph extreme fitness challenge in 40 mins, does 200 push-ups wearing 9kg vest

Meta CEO shares that he tries to complete the Murph challenge with his children every Memorial Day to honor the US navy.

By Divya Bhati: Facebook founder Mark Zukerberg is currently busy in the AI transformation of Meta. The company is working on multiple big projects to whip its AI infrastructure into shape. It is aiming to “fundamentally shift our physical infrastructure design, our software systems, and our approach to providing a stable platform,” reveals the company. However, amid all the busy work schedule, Zukerberg is not missing out on spending time with his family or ignoring fitness.

The self-made billionaire recently took the trending “Murph challenge”, an intensive physical workout to honor the US navy seal on Memorial Day.

Zukerberg accepted the challenge of completing one mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats and another mile and completed his entire workout in just 39 minutes 58 seconds. To make this more extreme, Meta CEO even wore a 9KG weighted vest during the entire workout.

Sharing his fitness achievement, Zukerberg posted on social media and wrote, ” try to do the Murph challenge with the girls every Memorial Day as a tradition to honor those who defended us. One of Lt Murphy’s favorite workouts was running a mile, then doing 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, and then running another mile — all while wearing a 20lb weighted pack. This year I got it done in 39:58. The girls did a quarter-Murph (unweighted) in 15 mins!”.

“The last mile run when your legs are torched from the squats and your heart rate is pegged is pretty brutal too,” he further shared in a comment.

Well, this is not the first time Zukerberg has tried to push his fitness endurance. Earlier, he completed his 5K run- long-distance road running competition over a distance of five kilometres. The 39 years old CEO crossed the finish line in 19:34 and ended up third in the race.

Not just Zukerberg, other big tech CEOs are also fitness freaks and follow a regular fitness regime to take care of their health. Apple CEO Tim Cook in one of the Media interviews revealed he wakes up before 4 a.m. and goes for a long run. Even Amazon founder Jeff Bezoz follows a good routine to keep himself fit and surprised everyone with his fitness transformation. Even Twitter head Elon Musk tries to squeeze in some time for workout to at least twice a week.

Not just workouts, but many rich people even have personal fitness trainers to help them stick to their perfect fit routines. Well, after working hard, earning fortunes, and attaining global fame, staying healthy is a priority to keep enjoying wealth and success in the long run.
