All Revealed at Meta Quest Gaming Showcase 2023

Meta is back with another VR showcase for 2023, and the first big announcement from the event is the reveal of the new Meta Quest 3 headset. The Quest 3 will retail from $499 this fall, with a price drop expected for the Quest 2.

Quest 3 specs will be revealed at a later date, but all games shown during the event will be compatible with the current lineup of Quest VR headsets. Additionally, games showcased during the event are scheduled to release later this year, with the caveat that unexpected delays may delay their releases a little further.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

Kicking off the showcase is a rhythm game from Sega that revisits a 1999 arcade classic. In Samba De Amigo: Party Central, players dance to a pair of maracas while hitting oncoming targets and posing to the beat of the music. . The game also features online gameplay so players can dance alongside their friends with custom avatars.

I Hope You Die 3: Gear in the Machine

Confirmed for release on the Meta Quest Store in summer 2023, the third installment in the spy series I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine is packed with physics-based interactions in a comic spy-movie setting. Players will use Quest’s touch controls to handle a variety of interesting devices while engaging in a variety of “spy-jinks”. To celebrate the reveal, the game is 10% off in the Quest store.

Silent Slayer: Vampire Vault

Silent Slayer: Vault of the Vampire is a single player horror game featuring vampires, the game places a heavy emphasis on stealth and uniquely on the noise level of the player. Players need to be careful not to make too much noise as they sneak around the environment, solve puzzles, and deal with the vampires that stalk the halls.

Ghostbusters: Rise of the Phantom Lord

Premiered at last year’s VR showcase, today’s event gave a first look at some gameplay footage from Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord along with some live-action footage. Ghostbusters HQ was revealed to be a pre-mission lobby with the Ghostbuster squad of players gearing up with the franchise’s iconic proton packs and PKE meters before heading out to face a variety of ghostly entities in virtual reality.


VR gamers are always eager for new mech games to fulfill their Gundam and MechWarrior fantasies, and it looks like UNDERDOGS could be a worthy addition to the genre. Set in a dark futuristic arena reminiscent of ancient Rome’s gladiators, players will control massive mechs with brutal melee weapons as they face off against various monsters and other mech pilots in an arena.

The next evolution of the NFL PRO ERA

NFL wide receiver Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins joined the show to introduce “the next evolution of the NFL Pro Era”. Last year’s NFL-licensed VR football game is coming out with a major update that will expand the game’s roster, improve multiplayer, and introduce additional features and new modes. Based on some of the gameplay stats revealed last year, NFL PRO ERA has been a popular title with fans of VR sports games.

Returning to everyone’s favorite Wii Sports game, Racket Club is a perfect title for VR beginners and racket sports fans alike. Notably, Racket Club is developed by Resolution Games, the studio behind the VR tabletop RPG hit Demeo. Players can play single-player or jump online for multiplayer games, and they can also socialize on the court when it’s time to take a break.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice

Brought to you by Fast Travel Games, Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice brings the long-running Vampire: The Masquerade franchise into virtual reality. Players will take on the role of a vampire as they explore the dark streets of Venice’s canals and streets using superhuman vampire abilities and, of course, drinking lots of blood along the way.

Dungeons of Eternity

Dungeons of Eternity is a randomly generated fantasy dungeon crawler with a wide variety of weapons including magic swords and spell casting staffs. The game features physics-based combat against creatures like skeletons and scorpions, with the promise that each run will be a little different. The game can be played single-player or online with friends, and players can also create random weapons to equip their characters.

The 7th Guest

This showcase brought a number of reboots of old classics, and The 7th Guest is no exception. Revisiting the 1993 puzzle adventure in virtual reality, this is a horror puzzle game set in a haunted house that brings to mind classics like Myst and The Room, with magical contraptions that will allow for some cracking mechanics. mind-blowing puzzles.

One of the most highly regarded VR games is finally getting a sequel later this year. The original is considered one of the best zombie games in VR, and Arizona Sunshine 2 appears to have noticeably improved visuals. The trailer showcases the game’s physics-heavy as the player rips a machete stuck on a nearby zombie. Melee weapons were notably absent from the original game, so players can expect to get up close and personal this time around.

Stranger Things VR

The Stranger Things VR trailer kicks off in the Upside Down, with the player traveling through the otherworldly landscape and facing various gruesome monsters that fans of the show might recognize. Interestingly, players will take on the role of Stranger Things antagonist Vecna, providing a unique insight into the backstory and motivations behind the otherworldly villain.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable

A seemingly perfect premise for a VR game, Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will send players to face off against Titans with the recon regiment, swinging through the air in Attack on Titan’s iconic ODM gear. While the trailer is pre-rendered, it appears to be an in-engine trailer, so players can likely expect the gameplay to feature similar visuals and mechanics. The trailer only shows footage of the cityscape behind the wall, so it will be interesting to see if other environments such as the outer forest are utilized as well.


People Can Fly’s classic skill shooter Bulletstorm is finally coming to VR later this year. The original Bulletstorm has been the target of VorpX VR mods in the past, but the official VR release is obviously much more refined. Players will also take on hordes of enemies and massive bosses in action-packed sequences, using an over-the-top arsenal of weapons, including the fan-favorite energy collar.

Assassin’s Creed: Nexus VR assassins-creed-nexus

Assassin’s Creed: Nexus VR has been confirmed for release later this year, though no trailer or further information was revealed during the event. For now, players can expect a more detailed announcement from Ubisoft on June 12th.

Wrath of Asgard 2

A sequel to 2019’s Asgard’s Wrath on PC VR, the standalone sequel to Meta Quest will have players defend Loki’s forces using powerful magic weapons and melee weapons. There are plenty of puzzles to solve, mounts to ride, and gigantic bosses to fight. Players will explore vast open worlds in Norse realms such as Tierra del Fuego and the scorching deserts of ancient Egypt, battling gods and various mythical creatures. There are also numerous side activities such as crafting, fishing, side quests and mini-games. The trailer promises an impressive 60 hours of gameplay, which is an impressive amount of content for a VR game.
