Finance Manager – 12 month contract opportunity

REED Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be representing our client, one of Northern Ireland’s leading employers who are recruiting for a Finance Manager on an interim basis for a period of 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Financial Director in a dynamic team environment.

The Job

Working closely with the Finance Director the Finance Manager will assist in managing the team as well as developing the accounting systems and processes.

More specific duties will involve:

Assisting the Finance Director in producing annual budgets, monthly management accounts and ad-hoc reports as required. Reporting against budget and preparing analysis of all variances

Developing tools and systems to provide critical financial information to the Directors and Managers, and to make actionable recommendations on strategy

Manage the bank reconciliation process for all company bank accounts

Manage the purchase ledger staff and reconcile difficult purchase ledger accounts

Liaising with Sales ledger staff in respect of receipts and reconciling receipts to the company’s accounting system

Reconciliation of Intercompany transactions

Preparing the management accounts

Online shop performance analysis

Retail shops accounting issues – Corporate accounts, etc

Preparing monthly management accounts for all Retail shops (Stg & ROI)

Daily postings from cash books to maintain general ledger

General ledger journals including accruals and prepayments
Write up, posting and reconciliation of books of prime entry (multi-currency)

Manage the cheque journals and cash receipts

Balance sheet reconciliations

Bank reconciliations

The Person

Candidates will ideally hold a professional qualification CIMA, ACA, ACCA although candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.

Candidates will have 2 years post qualified experience

Candidates will have experience preparing management accounts and bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.

Candidates will ideally have wholesale industry experience as well as experience in a multi-site work environment

Candidates will have strong analytical skills and commercial awareness and will be able to be make decisions to support the business

A knowledge of SUN accounting software would be an advantage.
