Vazegate scandal hits Mumbai Police & Maharashtra govt

An unprecedented scandal has hit the Mumbai Police following the arrest of its now-suspended API Sachin Vaze in the Antilia bomb scare probe by the NIA and the alleged murder of Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the gelatin sticks-laden car that was parked near Mukesh Ambani’s residence.

The Maharashtra government has transferred Param Bir Singh out of the position of Mumbai CP, and Param Bir has since turned against state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh whom he has accused of asking Vaze to extort Rs 100 crore from Mumbai bars, pubs and other establishments, among others.

Sachin Vaze continues to be in the NIA’s custody.
