Thousands of people who are followers of Hinduism scaled an active volcano in Indonesia on June 5. They tossed their livestock, food and flowers into the smoking crater in a centuries-old religious ceremony.
The dramatic visuals show members of the Tengerr tribe swarming the rim around the basin of Mount Bromo. They hauled goats, vegetables, chickens on their backs up to the volcano celebrating the Yadnya Kasada festival.
This ritual is performed every year and this is the first time after Covid-19 pandemic.
